LAND DRAINAGE or FRENCH DRAIN
Introducing a land-drain, or French drain as it is often referred, can reduce or even eradicate low-level damp issues to cob walls in Cornwall. When a build-up of moisture content within the principal fabric becomes excessive, problems may arise and these damp wall issues generally manifest themselves on internal plasters and/or decorated wall surfacing.
High ground levels outside should be reduced to an appropriate depth below internal floor level WITHOUT disturbing any foundations.
