Online Cob CPD

As well as delivering Cob Courses we are also providing free, online Continual Professional Development presentations. A Power-point slideshow that has been thoughtfully structured that offers the viewer an insight into many aspects of cob in construction and the manufacturing and usage of Compressed Earth Blocks.

Our cob CPDs have been created with audience appeal in mind and are weighted with lots of useful information, an abundance of (our own) library images and clearly laid out in a familiar slideshow. ALL of our Continual Professional Development presentations last for approximately 1 hour including Q&A at the end.

All of our cob CPDs are delivered from our workshop by Leslie Cornell Snr, an accredited cob specialist that continues to practice both in the depot and out on site. With 28 years of experience of cob in construction, Leslie continues to share his muddy adventures and also pursues developing material and product sustainability.

Building with earth and cob, as a primary medium, is gaining traction globally and with more knowledge-based exposure, these humble yet incredibly sustainable materials could be destined for mainstream construction. Our cob CPDs extend these learnings with topics such as soil analysis, product testing and construction methodology.

Who are the CPDs aimed at?

Our cob CPDs will benefit a varied audience that either have or haven’t an understanding of earth and cob in construction. A genuine interest is obviously a must, but these cob CPDs are, to an extent, tailored to the assembly invited. Principally, and if a definition of a landing target is sought, then architects, building surveyors and academia would profit hugely. That said, self-builders, general builders, construction industry policy-makers and even the historians of vernacular would find these interesting.
