Cob is a traditional building material attributed to Cornwall and Devon. Cornwall has an abundance of clayey soils and when these clayey soils are mixed with straw and water…you get what we call cob. There are thousands of cob walls in Cornwall….you may even be staying in a cob building on your visit to Cornwall.

For almost 30 years we have had the opportunity to repair, rebuild and maintain the cob walls of Cornwall. We have our own depot in Cornwall whereby we regularly make cob to be used for the county’s cob walls. In fact, we are the only manufacturers and suppliers of premixed cob in Cornwall….so we know what we’re talking about.

We are now opening up our doors to share the experience of this long established tradition of building with cob. Attendees to our Summer Cob Workshops will have the chance to participate in making cob and building with cob. You can take it seriously or you can relax and absorb the experience as you please……9 times winners of the Best Countryside Stand at The Royal Cornwall Show demonstrates the impact this humble building material has to both old and young alike. So if you’re looking for things to do in Cornwall this summer (with a difference)…………….
