Learn about cob – Cob Courses
Cob is an ancient building material that is still being used today. Admittedly, cob isn’t quite so popular as a building medium as it once was, however there does seem to be a resurgence of interest both in its past applications and its potential going forward.
To bolster trending interest and in a continuing effort to promote cob further, we are now running cob courses throughout 2026. We have cob courses that suit all levels…from beginners to the more advanced and everyone in between. We’re also delivering cob workshops which are currently scheduled for Saturdays and summer cob workshops that are currently scheduled for weekdays in July and August.

Cornwall is blessed with sub-ground soils that contain a high clay content and it’s the clay within these soils that allows us to make cob successfully. Read more about our clay soils here. We are the only company in Cornwall that manufacture and supply cob and we, as a company, use it all the time to rebuild and repair the cob walls of Cornwall.
